Jim Ellis
As a graduate student in the department of computer science at Duke University, Jim Ellis, along with Tom Truscott, created the earliest form of Usenet.
Ellis worked as an Internet security consultant for Sun Microsystems. Mr. Ellis passed away in 2001, at the age of 45, after battling Lymphoma. Mr. Ellis is survived by his wife and three children.
