News Reader
A news reader is a program used to access Usenet newsgroups using the NNTP protocol. News readers are also commonly known as news clients, or simply readers or clients when used in context. Most news readers are designed to display both binary and text newsgroup articles. Text specific news readers are designed to allow the user to easily view and post individual articles in text newsgroups, but may not handle binary newsgroups very efficiently. Many email clients double as text news readers such as Outlook Express and are free and widely available. If you are going to read binary newsgroups you may need a more sophisticated news reader such as Newsbin or Newsleecher. Giganews supports any news reader utilizing the NNTP protocol."
